Children's Program

Working in conjunction with the Department of Health and Human Services, CAFE offers unspecialized section 28, rehabilitative and community support services. Each child has individualized goals with a focus on building the skills necessary to enhance their well being.

Each child served by CAFE has one-to-one staffing at all times, ensuring program consistency and individual attention. The relationship between the staff person and the child is of utmost importance as it leads to a program based upon mutual respect.

Individual Treatment Plans are designed and written in conjunction with the child's family and based upon each child's individual needs. This inherently leads to a more satisfying program because goals and objectives reflect the realistic needs of the child.

Parent and/or guardian involvement is not only welcomed, it is wholeheartedly embraced. We can serve the child better if we learn from those who know him/her best.

CAFE is a strictly community based agency. Each child served by CAFE is out in the community 100% of program time, participating in an infinite array of activities and endeavors (examples: sleigh rides, playgrounds, YMCA, arts & crafts, bowling, Kids Club, train rides, boat rides, apple picking, hiking, group field trips, etc.). CAFE focuses upon fostering independence on a natural basis.

CAFE focuses upon and emphasized the strengths of each child we serve. We start with the child and build the program around them. We see a whole universe and all of its possibilities in the eyes of each child we serve.

Statement of Commitment Regarding Co-Occurring Capability

Choices Are For Everyone, Inc. is a nonprofit agency serving individuals with developmental disabilities and cognitive delays through the office of Children's Behavioral Health, DHHS. CAFE is prepared to welcome, identify, engage, and also serve individuals and families with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders. CAFE incorporates attention to these issues in all aspects of program content and documentation. Although CAFE does not provide clinical services to those with such diagnoses, we do incorporate an understanding of, and approaches to, substance abuse problems as they relate to mental health problems and developmental disabilities. This program is prepared to be welcoming to those with co-occurring conditions and is willing to help refer consumers, families, and staff to additional clinical services as needed.
