RESIDENTIAL SERVICES CAFE oversees five homes in the Greater Portland area. Each home has only one or two residents, maximizing an individualized approach to services. Our goal is to provide a safe, stable, and comfortable environment in which people can be as independent as possible while becoming valued members of their community. CAFE helps people live they way they want to live, providing each person with the tools necessary to attain their lifestyle choices. People deserve the opportunity to discover who and what they are for themselves. Shared Living Alternative CAFE has been a pioneer in developing the Shared Living residential model (formerly known as an ISO). In an SLA home, an individual resides with a local individual or family rather than in a traditional group home. This residential arrangement provides increased flexibility and freedom, which allows for specific lifestyle wants, wishes and desires to be fulfilled on a natural basis.
